WHAT TO EXPECT - Click HERE to see the STEP-BY-STEP Method
BEGINNER
The Beginner Level lays the foundation of ballroom and latin dance. As a student, you will have fun learning the basic steps and corresponding rhythms whilst becoming aware of dance posture and "Leading & Following". Not only will you acquire a taste for the variety of dances but get to know intimately, through completing the 5 month course, 10 new dances that you had never previously known. Please lookHEREto learn more.
IMPROVER
In the Improver level you will be able to solidify the basics enabling you learn more complicated step patterns with ease. You will also be able to specialize in your favorite Social Style, by choosing ether latin and/or ballroom courses as you advance. Expect to gain a comprehensive understanding of the dances that you have chosen and be able to competently and confidently dance the night away in any social situation.
INTERMEDIATE
The Intermediate level is a substantial leap forward . Not only will you be introduced to new steps in all dances but there will be far greater emphasis on styling, technique, leading & following. You will step into the more philosophical world of dance and gain a far greater understanding of body awareness. This will enable you express yourself more ably through dance. Please look HEREto learn more about Intermediate Lessons.
ADVANCED
Reaching and completing the Advanced level represents a great achievement as much more complicated new step patterns will be introduced. The focus will be on execution of movement, fluidity, seamlessness and style. Students will be expected to move in perfect synchronization with his/her partner. Please look HERE to learn more about Advanced Lessons.
STEP-BY-STEP METHOD
Each course lasts 4 weeks in which a student will learn 2 dances: 1/2 hour of ballroom & 1/2 hour of latin. He or she will be dancing with a professionally trained partner in order to best understand how each movement is supposed to feel. The student will also have instruction from an accredited teacher who will demonstrate and correct a series of dance moves over the course of the hour.
The professional partners are rotated every 5 minutes to ensure a comprehensive feel of the different dance styles. Our courses run very smoothly and quicly due to the use of a professional partner, therefore students learn twice as many dance steps as many other London ballroom & latin dance classes. (Not to mention have twice as much fun).
By enrolling in all 5 months worth of courses, the student will benefit from learning the basics in all 10 ballroom and latin dances . After accomplishing this beneficial foundation, he or she could then move to the Improvers, Intermediate and Advanced classes.

ABOUT MEDAL PREPARATION AND EXAMS
Preparing for a medal test is a great way to focus your dance education towards a specific goal. At Partners For Dance we offer you the opportunity to do medal tests with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), one of the oldest and most prestigious international dance societies.
Medal tests can be taken in the Latin American or Ballroom dances. Student can progress through the Social Dance Test, Pre-Bronze, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Gold Star Test. For each level you will be expected to dance most of the steps specified in that level by the ISTD syllabus, and dance those steps with the quality of proficiency and technique expected at that level. A certain minimum number of dances is required for each different medal test. And the cost of doing a medal test varies from test to test.
For a medal test, you can dance either with a partner or with your teacher. During the test, you and your partner/teacher will be the only couple in the studio, with an examiner from the ISTD watching and taking notes. A few weeks after your test, you will receive a copy of the examiner's notes plus your certificate and medal.
The best way to prepare for a medal test is through individual lessons (on your own or with a partner). In this way our teachers can make sure that you are dancing the proper figures for each level, and with correct technique.

ANESSA - Manager
Anessa first started to dance as a child in Australia training in ballet, Calisthenics, Graceful Girl, cabaret and musical theatre before falling in love with Latin Dance. Her 10 years worth of teaching experiences have led her to a variety of teaching opportunities working with adults and children.
Anessa's background in choreography in musical theatre has seen her win many awards for routines within her field. Whether the choreography is simple, bridal dance or large scale school production, such as those created for Latymer Upper School, Anessa's attention to detail ensures a bespoke experience every time.
She has a very "down to earth" approach to teaching with an emphasis on enjoyment and increased confidence in her students. "Whilst learning to Lead and Follow, the students will increasingly be able to express themselves artistically on the dance floor." says Anessa.
Anessa's training and background combined with Partner For Dance's philosophy of dance makes learning a simple and rewarding experience for all.
